Access

Microsoft Office Access is the entry level relational database management system from Microsoft, packaged with products such as Microsoft Office Professional which combines the relational Microsoft Jet Database Engine with a graphical user interface.

Microsoft Access can be a powerful application yet its well designed user interface make ideal for all types of user. Access is widely used by small businesses, within departments of large corporations, and hobby programmers to create ad hoc customized systems for handling the creation and manipulation of data. Its ease of use and powerful design tools give the non-professional programmer a lot of power for little effort. However, this ease of use can be misleading.

While we do not recommend the use of this database system for large scale websites, due to inbuilt restrictions, it is a quickly and relatively cheap method of creating data driven pages and also has the benefit of building easily portable websites.
