AS400/iSeries

Application System/400 is a legacy type of minicomputer produced by IBM. The earlier generation and original name of IBM's iSeries and i5 families of midrange business computers. Introduced in 1988, the AS/400 evolved into the iSeries in 2000 and the i5 in 2004. When first introduced, the AS/400 was considered a "minicomputer." The systems often use a combination of the RPG programming language and DB2 DBMS.

Many government and financial institutions still use these systems and for the former budget constrictions may prevent any migration to newer platforms in the near future. However we have found many ways to integrate such systems securely with newer platforms such as Microsoft .Net
